Why WiseMatcher exists

When the projects suddenly dried up

A lot of large companies are scaling back their contractors right now. Some don't just end a contract here and there. They show an entire bench of external consultants the door all at once. That is exactly what happened to us. We had a whole roster of consultants placed at one big corporate client, and from one day to the next they were left without a project.

All of a sudden I had a list of people in front of me who each needed a new project as quickly as possible. And me in the middle of it, responsible for finding them one.

There was no tool for it

Anyone who has hunted for projects for several freelancers at once knows the routine. Every morning, one project board after another, then LinkedIn. Skim the new listings and run through them in your head: which of your available people could fit? And not just once a day, but over and over, because new projects come in constantly and the good ones are taken fast.

I simply didn't have time for all that clicking. So I went looking for a tool to take the work off my hands. Something that would keep an eye on the boards for me and tell me which project fit which of my candidates. I came up empty. There were application assistants for individual job seekers, but nothing for someone who has to hold an entire pool of profiles up against the market.

So we built it ourselves

Eventually we reached the point where it was obvious: if it doesn't exist, we'll build it ourselves. With a small team we set out to develop exactly the tool I had been missing. One that watches the project boards around the clock and uses AI to work out which CV from the pool matches a new project.

That old frustration is what turned into WiseMatcher. We keep improving it, but the core idea has stayed the same: the software handles the mind-numbing search work, so you can focus on what it can't do, namely getting the right people into the right project.
